  • There seems to be an update for Ikaro but the program fails to update itself. How can I update my Ikaro game ?

    • Try one of the following:

    Run the game or the update program like an administrator.

    On Windows XP this requires you to be the administrator.

    On Vista and Windows7 not only you must be the administrator, but instead of double-clicking on the Ikaro Icon, you must perform a single right click on the icon and select "Run as administrator".

    You can find the update program in the start menu at Start->The Games Company->Ikaro->Update. Again right click the icon and select "run as administrator" instead of left clicking.

    Download and run the patch setup manually.

    Be sure you have Ikaro version 1.02 or 1.03 (just run the game and have a look at the bottom left corner of the main menu screen).

    Download the patch using this link: http://www.mdg-soft.com/ikaro/patches/IkaroPatch110A.exe

    Run the patching program. If Vista asks your permission to run the program, just allow it to run.

  • Can I insert my own music as the soundtrack for Ikaro ?

    • Yes you can, just follow this procedure:

    Convert the music you want to play to a .wav format.

    Copy your .wav files into the [ikaro]\wav\flyer_music directory where [ikaro] is the name of the ikaro game installation directory.

    In the same directory there is a file named list.txt. Edit this file and add your music files to the list using the following syntax: m=[name of the .wav file complete with extension].

    Close and save the list.txt file.

    Every time you start a game session Ikaro will randomly select a title from the ones listed in list.txt.

    If you want always to listen to the same song then you should use the syntax: sm=[name of the .wav file complete with extension]

  • My operating system is Vista and when I start the computer with the Ikaro disk in the drive, it asks to install again. How can I prevent this problem ?

    • There is no actual need to reinstall the game in this case, just abort the installer execution.

    To avoid being bothered again you need to install Vista Service Pack 1.
